K9 Shrapnel Wound in a Box

The Wounds in a Box^® series offers cost effective, compact solutions for skills training. Easy to transport, yet rugged enough for classroom or field use.

This combination of the standard Shrapnel Wound in a Box^® with a dog faux fur cover appliance adds a new dimension to your training. This K9 - Shrapnel Wound in a Box^® provides a realistic look and feel for treating your service animal. With elastic straps, this appliance can be easily installed or removed to other in a Box^® task trainers, and can be hand-washed and dried after use.

This device comes with a faux fur cover. To add a penetration, simply align your faux fur over your Wound in a Box^®, mark the location of the wound, and use scissors or a knife to cut the desired penetrating wound into the fur.

Fur textures and colors vary by batch. Manual blood supply pump is included.

Construction

The K9 Shrapnel Wound in a Box^® features a hard bone (fractured) inside of the wound cavity to elevate skill level. The representative skin and tissue is constructed of high quality silicone rubber, with layers of coloration that provide a depth and realism to the product. The PATENTED construction with SOFTTECH^® and ROCKTECH^® materials a realistic feel, and is very durable and UV resistant. Blood tubing is integrated into the construction to easily create simulated blood flow. The task trainer is contained in its own storage case.

Operation

The task trainer is contained in its own storage case. The K9 Shrapnel Wound in a Box^® includes manual bleeding system. Trainer reinforces wound packing technique for this unique mechanism of injury. Manual blood supply pump is included.

Maintenance

The device and faux fur should be rinsed in clean, warm water and allowed to dry before storage. The simulation may be removed from the storage case for cleaning. The device may be washed with mild detergents like dish soap. Allow the device and faux fur to dry fully before storage to prevent mold or mildew growth.
